The Indianapolis Colts placed veteran defensive end Fili Moala on injured reserve, signing free agent defensive end Gannon Conway.

It's unclear why Moala is out for the season.

Conway is a former Miami Dolphins undrafted rookie who was cut after three days this spring.

He played collegiately at Arizona State where he had 51 tackles, 5.5 sacks and two pass deflections. He was an honorable-mention All-Pac-12 selection as a senior.

Moala was signed to a contract in March. He had 26 tackles and 1.5 sacks last season.

For his career, he has 112 tackles, 3.5 sacks  and two fumble recoveries.
