Former Ohio State coach to do fundraising for university. Terry McCormick
Former Ohio State coach JIm Tressel, who spent last season as a replay and video consultant with the Indianapolis Colts, will become a vice president at the University of Akron, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Tressel had interviewed for the Colts head coaching job after Jim Caldwell was fired, but Indianapolis settled on Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano instead.
Tressel came to Indy after being fired at Ohio State in the wake of multiple NCAA violations and an attempted cover-up of the matter.
At Akron, Tressel will be in charge of fundraising and one of his first challenges will be to raise money for a new basketball arena.
