The Indianapolis Colts have signed ree agent linebacker Robert Ruggiero and waived-injured linebacker Shawn Loiseau.
If Loiseau clears waivers, he will revert to the Colts Injured Reserve list.
Ruggiero was a tryout player during the Colts rookie minicamp in May.
As a senior at Bridgewater State University last year, he was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 44 tackles and 23 tackles for loss. Ruggiero also participated in the 2013 All American Bowl and earned the Jim Marshall Award as the top defensive lineman. He transferred following three seasons at Springfield College and in four collegiate seasons, compiled career totals of 47.5 tackles for loss and 22 sacks.
Loiseau was last signed by the Colts as a free agent earlier this month. He came to the team from the LA Kiss of the Arena Football League, where he totaled 23 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and two passes defensed in five games.
