The Indianapolis Colts signed former Dallas Cowboys center Phil Costa to a two-year contract.
He visited the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions and had a Cincinnati Bengals visit scheduled for Friday.
“Phil is a young, hard-nosed and physical center who has shown he can play at a winning level in our league,” Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said. “He will provide strong competition at the center position.”
Costa has played in 26 games and started 20 games over the past four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
The 6-foot-3, 302-pounder played collegiately at Maryland.
At Maryland, he played in 40 career games, including 30 starts, at the guard and center positions.
