Things are getting interesting and feisty in the NFC West and it’s only June.
First, we had San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh taking note of the rash of PED suspensions for the division rival Seattle Seahawks. Now, we’ve got St. Louis Rams cornerback Cortland Finnegan firing on former teammate and current 49ers safety Craig Dahl.
It all started when Dahl told Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area that the 49ers were predictable last season on offense and that they tipped some plays based on personnel and formations. Presumably, that is something the 49ers can work on again to prevent when they play St. Louis, who was 1-0-1 against San Francisco last season.
“Craig Dahl is lame and weak for that glad he with another squad we know how he play thanks for the tips we know who 2 go at,” Finnegan wrote on his Twitter account.
“Craig Dahl we know how you play thanks for the tips we know who to attack early and often,” Finnegan wrote in another tweet.
So what if the Rams picked up on some tendencies? That’s not necessarily a negative thing for Dahl to say. But apparently Finnegan didn’t appreciate it. What looks like it could be the best division in football – arguably it was by the end of last season – is already creating some fun storylines.
