New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin wasn't happy to hear about wide receiver Hakeem Nicks' complaints after he didn't catch a pass during a 38-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers where he was only targeted once.

“I can’t throw it to myself,” Nicks told New York reporters.

Nicks has nine receptions for 197 yards and no scores.

What did Coughlin think about that kind of statement?

“That’s not a smart thing to say,” Coughlin said. “He’s on the field. The quarterback was sacked seven times and hit probably, what, 15 times? Not a very smart thing to say. I’ll talk to him about it, sure.”
