Could Larry Fitzgerald be on offseason trading block?
Arizona Cardinals Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald could on the trading block during the offseason and is unlikely to have a new contract prior to the NFL trade deadline Tuesday, according to ESPN.
Fitzgerald has a hefty salary-cap figure of $18 million in 2014. By trading him, the Cardinals could create $8 million in salary-cap space.
The Cardinals will either work out a restructured deal or trade him.
Fitzgerald has 32 receptions for 422 yards and four touchdowns despite a left hamstring injury this season. For his career, he's atop the Cardinals all-time charts with 796 career receptions for 10,835 yards and 81 touchdowns.
It would likely benefit both the Cardinals and Fitzgerald to extend their relationship by reaching a compromise on his contract.
