Could Tramon Williams be next for pay day in Green Bay?

Now that the Green Bay Packers have secured cornerback Charles Woodson with a contract that should take him through the end of his career, or darn near it, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel turns the focus to the next player on the roster that could be in line to cash in.

Fellow cornerback Tramon Williams, who will start opposite Woodson with veteran Al Harris on the physically unable to perform list for the first six weeks of the season, might be next.

Woodson is in position to earn $33 million in the next three seasons and Williams is believed to be an up-and-comer at the position ready to take off. He is in his fourth season and is waiting for a longterm offer from the organization.

“I look at it going out and playing football," Williams told Silverstein. “As long as do your job, this organization will show you that they're loyal. I'm not really worrying about that (contract stuff). The organization is first-class; it rewards players who show they're doing what they're asked to do.
"It's not even running through my mind. I'm happy for Charles period.”
