The Dallas Cowboys have placed defensive end Ben Bass on injured reserve, replacing him with defensive tackle Jerome Long.

Bass, a former Texas A&M player, separated his shoulder in practice.

Long was on the Kansas City Chiefs' practice squad before being signed and waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

He was added to the Cowboys' roster in June, but didn't make the team out of training camp.

Now, he's back.
