From NFL.com:
The Dallas Cowboys have gone from NFC East leaders to chasing the Philadelphia Eagles.
Their kicker has misses in five consecutive games, Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware is recovering from a strained neck that he sustained in a scary headfirst collision, and a road game against the undefeated New Orleans Saints comes next.
Yet despite consecutive December-starting losses that have knocked the Cowboys (8-5) out of first place and intensified concerns about another late-season slump, coach Wade Phillips insists he's still confident his team will do what it needs to do to make the playoffs.
"I think we can, I think we will. I don't wonder about that," Phillips said Monday. "I have a lot of confidence in these guys. This is part of a long season. Coming down the stretch, we need to finish."
