IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said Friday he's concerned about the playing status of wide receiver Roy Williams.
Williams is still recovering from three bruised ribs, suffered Oct. 4 at Denver. Yet, Williams said he expects to play.
But Phillips said Williams is in pain, even when he catches a pass in practice, and that the receiver would have to wear protective padding over his injured ribs if he were to play Sunday.
"The guy I'm worried about is Roy Williams," Phillips said before the team's workout. "He has practiced, but he is in pain sometimes.
"But he told me he wants to play and feels like he can play ... He says he wants to play and feels like he can. Of course, our doctors and trainers are looking at it, also."
