The Dallas Cowboys were hit hard with injuries at center during training camp and they’ve made a move to ensure there is adequate cover during the regular season.
The Cowboys have traded a late-round draft pick to the Miami Dolphins to acquire veteran interior offensive lineman Ryan Cook, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
The Cowboys saw Cook in-person during the exhibition finale Wednesday night and they’ve made the deal. The hope is that a back issue that has been plaguing starter Phil Costa will not be a long-term problem.
Cook is a former second-round draft pick of the Minnesota Vikings. He has 40 career starts and has even appeared at tackle.
