The Dallas Cowboys will go camping in California for at least the next two summers.
The Dallas Morning News reports the team will return to Oxnard, Calif., for camp in 2013 and 2014, according to public documents acquired by the newspaper.
The Cowboys signed a three-year deal last year that included a three-year option that is at the discretion of the club. That means the team could be there through the summer of 2017 if it chooses to do so.
Jerry Jones’ club will wrap up three weeks in Oxnard with a practice this morning. The Cowboys have used San Antonio in recent years but Jones preferred to be in California. Mild temperatures in Oxnard make it attractive to the team.
