Dallas – or North Texas as they are calling it – has yet to pull off its first Super Bowl, but plans are already in place to bring a second battle for the Lombardi Trophy back to the area.

Super Bowl XLV will be hosted at Cowboys Stadium after the coming season. It could be the last football game for some time with the labor battle looming. But eventually football will return and the folks of Dallas, err North Texas, are fixing to bring the 2016 Super Bowl back to Jerryworld, which we are assuming will have a nice corporate name by then. Eventually the economy has to turn, right?

As part of that plan, Troy Aikman, the Hall of Fame quarterback, will serve as the chair. He’ll be taking the place of Roger Staubach, who is heading the current Host Committee, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Expect every big city to be gunning for this game. It will be Super Bowl L.

Per the report, cities cannot bid for another game until after they have hosted their first one, making the timing for Dallas just right. For the record, anything beats another Super Bowl in Jacksonville.

I hope they do it. They would lose one of the best home field advantages in the NFL and ensure that BF would finally retire since he doesn't want to play in cold weather anymore. We'd still have 3 or 4 more years of BF retirement watch before the stadium's built though.
