Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said he's still deciding whether to start Robert Griffin III or Kirk Cousins this week.
On the one hand, Griffin is the face of the franchise. On the other hand, Griffin has played this season on a less-than-100-percent knee during a laughable season. It may be time to let him rest with the Redskins out of the postseason race.
One factor that won't affect Shanahan's decision will be owner Dan Snyder, who apparently has a rocky relationship with the coach. According to a report from The Washington Post, Snyder will have no input on what Shanahan does this week.
"He won't step in and interfere with that," a source told The Post. "He's not going to step into a personnel decision that way."
After winning the NFC East a season ago, the Redskins have been a laughing stock throughout this year. And the inevitable conclusion to the campaign seems to be Shanahan parting ways once the season is in the books.
