The Houston Texans have placed tight end Owen Daniels on injured reserve with a designation to return, says ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Daniels suffered a broken fibula in Sunday night's 34-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Reports from Monday indicated that Daniels would miss a minimum of four weeks and up to eight weeks while the injury healed. The move by the Texans ensures that Daniels will miss eight weeks, as he cannot be brought back until after that time has elapsed.
