Linebacker recovering from hip, shoulder injuries Aaron Wilson
Tennessee Titans linebacker David Thornton will begin the regular season on the physically unable to perform list, coach Jeff Fisher announced today.
Thornton, who underwent hip and shoulder surgeries since last season, will miss at least the first six weeks of the regular season.
"David Thornton has worked very, very hard to get to this point," Fisher said. "I think he has done an extraordinary job to get to this point. However, he is still not ready to play. He will benefit from the time. ... It is hard to evaluate him at this point because he can’t participate in practice and can’t be involved in contact."
Fisher said that the shoulder is no longer a problem, but Thornton is still recovering from the hip procedure.
