David Tyree helped the New York Giants to victory in Super Bowl XLII with one of the most amazing catches in the history of the NFL’s championship game.
Now, Tyree will ride off into the sunset as a member of the Giants. The team has signed Tyree to a contract in order for him to retire as a member of the franchise, according to Mike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger.
Tyree spent last season in a minor role with the Baltimore Ravens. He lost the 2008 season, the one following his heroic Super Bowl effort, to a knee injury. Tyree was one of the better special teams players in the game and also a capable complementary receiver.
