Wide receiver Davone Bess hasn't heard from the Cleveland Browns' since being arrested at a Fort Lauderdale, Fla. airport.
Speaking to The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Bess said he was going through some personal issues and later checked into a mental health facility. Though he hasn't heard from the front office or new coach Mike Pettine, he did receive a mass text from offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
"I haven't talked to the Browns [front office], and I don't know how they feel about me," Bess told the newspaper. "I see they made changes, and change is often good. I did have communication with [offensive coordinator] Kyle Shanahan. He sent out a group message [to the offensive players] and I replied … I'm looking forward to the season and getting better on and off the field."
In 2013, his first season with Cleveland, Bess caught 42 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns.
