DeMarcus Ware is preparing for his position switch with some new equipment.
The Dallas Cowboys’ top pass rusher is converting from outside linebacker to defensive end in the 4-3 scheme being installed by Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli. Now, he’ll be playing with his hand in the dirt almost exclusively.
In order to handle the role closer to the line of scrimmage on every down, Ware has changed facemasks, reports Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. Ware’s new helmet, which can be seen here, adds several bars that he obviously hopes will keep offensive linemen from slipping their hands into his face during the heat of battle.
