Houston linebacker gets six-year deal that could be worth up to $48 million. Joe Fortenbaugh
Imagine the smile on Houston linebacker DeMeco Ryans’ face right now.
Ear to ear, baby.
The four-year veteran out of Alabama has agreed to a brand-new six-year contract with the Texans that could be worth up to $48 million, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
McClain reports that Ryan’s deal includes $21.75 million in guaranteed money and is worth $26.3 million over the first three years.
Boom.
Not bad for a 25-year-old with 403 tackles, 7.5 sacks and two interceptions in his career.
As a nice little bonus, Ryans can make an extra $600,000 over the first three years of the deal if he makes it to the Pro Bowl.

Can I be the first one to say they will be good this coming year and then we will talk about how good they are then they will disappoint again. That defense is getting better every year and every year they find a reason to blow it. With Cushing, Ryans, and Williams they should dominate for years, but will they?
better offer from the Cardinals (a first round pick). He did not want to go to the Cardinals’ losing atmosphere. The 49ers traded him where he was willing to go for less value, because of all he had done for the team. Their was no trade clause or anything, just respect.
