DeSean Jackson wants new contract

Philadelphia wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who is coming off a career-best season, said Monday that he hopes the Eagles will renegotiate his contract and alluded to the fact that he doesn’t want to do anything “out of the ordinary” to get a new deal.

“I definitely feel it’s something deserving,” Jackson told CSNPhilly.com. “We’ll see how that plays out, and hopefully we can work things out smoothly and not have to worry about anything out of the ordinary.”

Jackson finished the season with 82 receptions for 1,332 yards, both the bests for him. Jackson has three years remaining on a five-year deal he signed before the 2012 season. Jackson will earn $10.5 million in 2014, $10 million in 2015 and $8.5 million in 2016 under his current deal. He has earned $18 million in the first two years of the deal.
