The City of Denver has seen its Broncos play in six Super Bowls.
But now Denver is hoping for a closer proximity to the big game, as the city has put in an application to host a future Super Bowl, according to the Denver Post.
Denver is vying to host the game in either 2018, 2019 or 2020. Once upon a time, the thought of a cold weather city like Denver hosting a Super Bowl was farfetched, but in recent years, the league has relented with East Rutherford, N.J. getting into the mix hosting the 2014 Super Bowl.
"We will pursue it along with Visit Denver," Denver Mayor Michael Hancock said. "I think Denver would be head and shoulders above any other city to compete to host a Super Bowl."
