Restricted free agent linebacker to re-sign with Chiefs Aaron Wilson
Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson has officially been a restricted free agent for a few weeks.
Now, he's going to sign his one-year tender in the next few days, according to Scout.com.
The former first-round pick was assigned an original round tender, but is being paid $2.475 million in 2010.
NFL rules dictate that he must be paid 110 percent of his last year's salary.
Last season, Johnson was paid $2.25 million.
So, Johnson, 27, gets a raise. However, there's no bonus associated with him signing his tender.
