Bironas field goal as time expires give Tennessee win over Pittsburgh. Terry McCormick
Tennessee Titans special teams captain Tim Shaw didn't mince words in describing how big his team's Thursday night victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers was.
“Can you imagine 1-5? Can you imagine the despair of that?” Shaw told TitanInsider.com. “So this is elation and relief. We needed this. We were really, really desperate for a win. The guys are happy, and we're gonna build on this.”
Shaw did his part in the 26-23 victory, blocking a Steeler punt to set up Tennessee's first touchdown.
In a word, the Titans have been awful through the early part of the season, but at 2-4, and with their schedule easing somewhat, Tennessee is keeping hope alive for now that maybe the 2012 season can be salvaged.
"For now, it (saves the season) but we've still got a long season ahead of us. We've got to keep pushing and doing our thing,” tight end Jared Cook said.
