It’s up to Dez Bryant whether the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver will continue to play this season with a broken finger.

Bryant needs surgery and that option, at this point, would cut short what has been a breakout season for the former first-round draft pick.

It would take more than this to take me out,” Bryant said, according to DallasBasketball.com “No way. They'd have to break my leg to keep me out.”

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, in an appearance on KRLD-FM, said Bryant would be the “ultimate decision maker” when it came to whether or not he will have surgery to repair his left index finger, according to the Dallas Morning News. But the bottom line right now is no final decision has been made and if the team gets information that Bryant could be in jeopardy by playing with the injury, that might change the entire scope of the matter.

“Certainly, we’re very mindful of everything involved here and are making sure that everyone, mostly Dez, has all the right information so that he and we can make a decision,” Jones said. “We know a lot right now and we’ll get a little more information here over the next day or so.”
