Decision to sign trouble-prone cornerback wasn't unanimous Aaron Wilson
The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with oft-troubled cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, a pact that is expected to culminate with a signed deal and an announcement as soon as Monday.
While there doesn't appear to be any wavering on the Bengals' part, apparently Jones' acquisition was met with some resistance among the coaches and the personnel department.
ESPN is reporting that adding Jones, who had off-field problems while he was with the Tennessee Titans and the Dallas Cowboys, wasn't a "slam dunk" among the coaching staff.
What about the scouts and executives?
Per the report, it was "hardly unanimous."
Typically, the Bengals' organization works in a way where owner Mike Brown has the final say on everything with strong input from coach Marvin Lewis.
Lewis hasn't said much about Jones.
The biggest public advocate for Jones in Cincinnati has been defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who was lobbied heavily by Deion Sanders.
