Team already in communication with NFL about possible change. Terry McCormick
The Miami Dolphins have been communicating with the NFL about making possible modifications to their current logo, which has been in place since 1997, says the Palm Beach Post.
The change, which are still up in the air at this time, could include removing the helmet from the Dolphins logo and giving the aquatic creature a more modern look. The new look will still have the Dolphin jumping through the sun on the side of the Miami helmet, and there will be no major change to the team's aqua and orange color scheme.
When the Dolphins made changes 15 years ago to the logo, they made only minor adjustments to the look that had been in place since the franchise was born in 1966.
