The Miami Dolphins have signed long snapper John Denney to a contract extension through the 2016 season.
The deal averages $1.2 million per season.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Denney enters his ninth season in the NFL, all with the Dolphins.
In his career, he has played in 128 consecutive games, which places second all-time in Dolphin history. Denney has amassed 34 special teams tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over his career. He originally joined the Dolphins as a undrafted free agent following the 2005 NFL draft.
Denney played collegiately at Brigham Young where he was a three-year letter winner at defensive end, appearing in 32 games with 29 starts, while also serving as the Cougars long-snapper.
