Team signs fifth-rounder, seventh-rounder Aaron Wilson
The Miami Dolphins have agreed in principle to four-year rookie deals with fifth-round cornerback Nolan Carroll and seventh-round linebacker Austin Spitler.
Carroll's deal carries a total base value of about $1.98 million, including a signing bonus of $191,750.
And Spitler received a four-year, $1.83 million contract that included a signing bonus in the neighborhood of $36,500.
Both contracts include base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000 as well as fourth-year escalator clauses that can increase the maximum value of the deals.
The 5-foot-11, 204-pound Carroll was the Dolphins' first fifth-round selection this year.
He was a four year letterman and team captain as a senior and finished his collegiate career with 61 tackles for the Terrapins.
Extremely fast, Carroll has recovered from a broken leg that sidelined him last season.
The 6-foot-3, 234-pound Spitler was the team’s second seventh-round selection.
He was a four year letterman for the Buckeyes and finished his collegiate career with 82 tackles, two sacks and an interception.
