Dolphins sign kicker, cut kicker

The Miami Dolphins signed kicker John Potter today, cutting Danny Hrapmann one day after he missed two field goals.

The Dolphins are waiting for regular kicker Caleb Sturgis to recover from a groin injury.

Sturgis connected on 26 of 34 field goals last year.

Potter is a former Buffalo Bills seventh-round draft pick. He's had previous stints with the Washington Redskins and Detroit Lions.
