Members of the Miami Dolphins organization will not meet with offensive tackle Jonathan Martin after the two parties were scheduled to speak to each other on Wednesday.

The Dolphins were hoping to meet with Martin for the first time since he left the team following allegations he was bullied by guard Richie Incognito.

However, the NFL intervened and asked the Dolphins not to meet with Martin until the league speaks with him first. The NFL is conducting an investigation as to what was going on in the Dolphins' locker room. Incognito has been suspended indefinitely by the organization.

“[Investigator] Ted Wells and the National Football League have asked that we delay our meeting with Jonathan Martin until they have the opportunity to meet with him," Dolphins President and CEO Tom Garfinkel said in a statement. "Out of deference to the process, we will cooperate with their request. We look forward to meeting with Jonathan as soon as possible.”

It would appear the NFL wants to play it safe and prevent any potential tampering from happening. That would be unlikely, given the fact that Martin and his attorney David Cornwell have been adament about what took place in the Miami locker room.
