An early run on receivers is more likely to happen more than one on quarterbacks.
According to a league source, Texas A&M receiver Mike Evans has a great chance at entering into the top five of the first round of the NFL draft Thursday night.
Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins has long been expected to go in the top five. Watkins could go anywhere from picks two through four — the Rams, Jaguars and Browns. Depending on which team takes Watkins, Evans could be the next one to go and much sooner than initially thought.
If Watkins falls to the Browns, the Raiders, according to the same source, would be heavily interested in taking Evans with the fifth overall pick.
With Jadeveon Clowney and Khalil Mack likely top five picks, a run on offensive linemen may halt until the latter half of the first 10 picks. That means, two of Greg Robinson, Jake Matthews and Taylor Lewan could be available at No. 6 when the Atlanta Falcons are on the clock.
And if the quarterbacks fall out of the top five, the makeup of the draft could change completely from what was expected just a week ago.
