Wow! Just wow!
Elvis Dumervil is now a free agent because the paperwork regarding his accepting a pay cut was not filed in time to be accepted, per USA Today.
That forced the Denver Broncos to release him
Dumervil's contract had to be in to the league office at 4 p.m. Eastern, but the Broncos did not get a fax from Dumervil and his agent, Marty Magid, until 4:06 p.m., at which time the Broncos had filed the paperwork to release him.
The gaffe makes Dumervil a free agent. Signing back with the Broncos is still possible, but the contract he had that ran through 2015 is now void.
