The New England Patriots obtained reinforcements for their interior defensive line with Vince Wilfork out for the season with a torn Achilles.
They traded for Philadelphia Eagles nose tackle Isaac Sopoaga.
The compensation wasn't steep.
The Patriots sent their 2014 fifth-round draft pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Sopoaga and a sixth-round draft pick.
The Patriots are on the hook for $529,000 in salary to Sopoaga this year with nonguaranteed base salaries of $3.75 million and $3.5 million in 2014 and 2015.
