The Philadelphia Soul are gearing up for the postseason in the Arena Football League and they are doing so without one of their most dynamic performers.
Wide receiver Tiger Jones is leading the team for a shot at making it in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Daily News reports Jones is done with the Soul even though he has yet to sign a contract with the NFL club.
It’s a longshot for Jones to make it, though. He leads the Soul with 2,010 yards receiving and was the AFL receiver of the year in 2011 after a career at Louisville.
The Eagles are relatively well stocked at the position with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant and a host of players that could fill smaller roles, including Riley Cooper and Marvin McNutt.
