Like father, like son.
Shawn Hochuli will be an NFL side judge this season, and if that name sounds familiar, it's because he's the offspring of one of the most well-known referees in the game. He's the son of Ed Hochuli, a veteran official and attorney.
The younger Hochuli was officiating Pac-12 games prior to his new NFL gig. He was among 12 new officials that the NFL announced on Thursday.
According to an ESPN story, this is the largest turnover of officials in a single season in the past 12 years.
