Safety is recovering from hip surgery Aaron Wilson
RANDALLSTOWN, Md. -- Minutes after overseeing the first day of his football camp, injured Baltimore Ravens star free safety Ed Reed got a few things off his chest.
Reed is expected to begin the season on the physically unable to perform list as he continues to rehabilitate his surgically repaired hip. Reed confirmed that he will begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list.
During a 20-minute interview with a small group of reporters, Reed reiterated that he isn't getting what he wants from the organization. He declined to get into specifics, stating he wants to communicate his concerns to the organization about 'minor' issues first before elaborating to reporters.
"I haven't had the support from the other side as you think has been there," Reed said. "If I don't say it now, it won't ever get said. . It's like a marriage. There are going to be disagreements.
"You got to work with that person. When it starts to get too much, you got to pull back: 'Is it worth it? or should I take a pay cut and be on another team?"
Reed emphasized that he requested a new contract last season, but said he hasn't asked for one this year as he recovers from his injury.
Reed has three years left on a six-year, $40 million deal that included $15 million in guaranteed money with remaining base salaries of $6 million this year, $6.5 million in 2011 and $7.2 million in 2012.
The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year said that the team rebuffed his contract request.
"The word I got was, 'We're comfortable with where we're at,'" Reed said. "Yes, you would be comfortable with the plays that I'm making on the field and paying me what you're paying me. .. There are six, seven players in front of me at my position [in terms of money] that I honestly wouldn't let hold my jock, and I don't even wear one.'"
Reed said he isn't sure when he'll return this season, whether it's against the New York Jets in the season opener or in October or November.
Reed, 31, said he would like to play football for a long time, eight to 10 years more.
He emphasized that he has no hard feelings toward the team, but indicated there are things to iron out.
"If it was up to me, I would retire here," Reed said. "Does it always happen? No."

Brian Dawkins - Champ Bailey & Ed Reed all in the same defenisve backfield - oh yeah...wait a minute, was that just a daydream...nevermind...
Reed is one of best to ever play the position, he's been awesome in Baltimore. Yet, I say Reed is not thinking straight on this one. The organization respected Reed and gave him time to think about retirement. How can he have these demands when he held the organization on hold to wait for his decision? Now he wants to play and wants more money---and waited until April to have surgery?
He said himself he's at %35 getting better. Thats a long way off from getting onto the field let alone discussing a new contract.

Personally believe Reed's thinking very straight on this one - IMO, and might be wrong on this - the 8-10yrs thing is a total smokescreen for fans, and the front office as don't believe either he or his teammates believe he has more than 2 or 3 seasons at most with the accumulated & type of injuries he's had now - this IMO is Ed Reed attempting to pull a heist on the Ravens for one more payday - and really who can blame him, he has leverage at this moment, so much for this team is in place and w/Reed they're SuperBowl contenders - w/o him, not sure they win their division - that being said will again state any GM would take Polamalu as their first safety off the board - period...Reeds, up next; however, all you Ravens lunatics get a grip, and don't throw out Belicheks smokescreen and INT's as how many plays does Reed give up for TD's gambling the way that he does, and even more so the last few years - sorry, Polamalu makes the difference for the Steelers even getting to the playoffs, look at last years results...
Sterling sliver jewelry, particularly bracelets, is a staple of fashionable women everywhere. This type of pandora beads is durable yet so beautiful. The versatility is outstanding; it goes with every outfit whether with jeans or with a designer gown. For instance, movie star Sandra Bullock wore a silver cuff bracelet to the 2009 MTV Movie Awards in May 2009. A silver cuff bracelet makes an audacious statement, yet it is lightweight and is flexible so that it can fit a variety of wrist sizes. Another popular type of bracelets is the silver charm bracelet. There are many shapes and designs for the charms that are attached to the bracelet.

I wish him only the best. Get well, young man.
This stuff happens, didn't cause Terrell Davis to retire, as that actually was the knee injury he sustained while tackling a Jet on an INT - that being said he was always and the donkeys cognizant of this issue with Daivs as well...migraines and nuerological problems are real for damn sure and don't make an NFL players life any easier - and seriously "karma" - give it a rest already - Favre's not the devil, hasn't been sighted hanging with Lucifer or sacrificying any virgins - well lately anyway - that was the "before PG Favre" that's marketed for mass consumption...
