Ed Reed still day-to-day regarding Texans' debut
Veteran safety Ed Reed, who signed as a free agent with the Houston Texans in the off-season, still has yet to play for his new team due to a hip injury.
Reed was inactive in Monday night's season-opening win over San Diego, and is still rehabbing, according to Coach Gary Kubiak.
"I think we're very close," Kubiak said via Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com.
In other moves, the Texans reinstated defensive lineman Antonio Smith, who was suspended for the opener for swinging his helmet at Miami's Richie Incognito in a scuffle. David Quessenberry was placed on injured reserve to make room on the roster.
