Eddie Lacy has an idea what teams are in play for him
The criticism Eddie Lacy received following his pro day workout at Alabama was “tough” but he blamed it on not having time after recovering from a hamstring injury that prevented him from working out at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Now, Lacy is excited to find out where he will go. He could be a fit in the first round for teams like the St. Louis Rams or Green Bay Packers.
“We have an idea (what teams are interested) but out of respect for those organizations we are not going to name specifics,” Lacy said, according to NFL.com. “We have a few teams in mind. But on draft day you never know what could happen so all we can do at the end of the day is sit back and wait to see when I'm called.”
Lacy was criticized for not looking sharp in his workout, particularly in positional drills.
“You hear a lot of things,” Lacy said. “People saying, ‘He's not in shape’ or ‘He's not fast.’ But in reality it's due to a lack of time. It's something you can't really worry about.
“You know what you are capable of when you're 100 percent and the guys doubting you on the next level know as well. I don't think it should be said or anything like that but there is nothing you can do about it.”
We’ll see if Lacy can stick as a first rounder tonight. Otherwise, it’s unlikely a running back will go until the second round on Friday.
