Green Bay Packers rookie running back Eddie Lacy has been named to the Pro Bowl, replacing injured Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
The Pro Football Writers Association Rookie of the Year rushed for 1,178 yards and 11 touchdowns.
"I was extremely excited to hear that I am getting to go to the Pro Bowl after my rookie season," Lacy said in a statement. "I feel like it gives me a great opportunity to thank my teammates, especially the offensive line, and coaches, for working with me and helping me accomplish what I did on the field this year."
Lacy is the first Packers rookie running back to be named to teh Pro Bowl since 1971 when John Brockington made the game. Ahman Green was the last Packers running back to make the Pro Bowl to make the game in 2004.
