January Jones

EIGHT: Mad Men, Part 1- We like to ask for suggestions around the NFP office when it comes to selecting a theme for our weekly “Eight in the Box.” How can we disappoint the Daily Jolt’s Ray Gustini, who has pleaded for the cast of AMC’s “Mad Men” to grace our pages? So let’s start with January Jones — in modern apparel.

SEVEN: Boo Birds- Not that JaMarcus Russell has done anything to discourage fans from voicing their opinions against him or the Raiders, but this is just another case about how some players don’t get it. In reaction to fans not showing up in Oakland and making sure that Russell hears their displeasure during games, the former first-round pick said, “By being fans, you wish they could be more supportive.” Did I really just read that?

SIX: The Goat- In case you were too wrapped up in “Balloon Boy” coverage Friday and missed this one, our own Brad Biggs posted a report that a woman from Minnesota was arrested for spray-painting a goat Vikings purple and locking it in the trunk of her car. Why? Well, it turns out the goat had Brett Favre’s No.4 shaved into the side of his fur. Do I need to say anything more, or are we good?

FIVE: Mad Men, Part 2- Sticking with our theme, we venture back out to Hollywood and introduce ourselves to Christina Hendricks, who has caught the eye of many of my fellow writers here at the NFP — for obvious reasons.

Christinia Hendricks

FOUR: Jerry and Wade- Cowboys owner Jerry Jones once again publicly stated that he’s fully behind head coach Wade Phillips, saying, “Under no circumstances would I make a change.” Sure, Jerry, thanks to Miles Austin. But what are the chances that Bill Cowher is shopping for a house in the Dallas Metro area right now? I say pretty good.

THREE: Early Exit- Titans defensive end Jevon Kearse made some headlines this week when he left the stadium early on Sunday night after he found out he was inactive for the Tennessee-Indy matchup in Nashville. I’ve seen this happen before, but Kearse only added fuel to the fire when he said, “And once I got the official word, I jumped back in my Benz and headed home.” Come on, man, the Benz? Gotta love players in this league.

TWO: Hanson Speaks- The Tom Cable case in Oakland gets more interesting every day, and now, according to Yahoo! Sports, it’s going up another notch in drama. Randy Hanson, who’s going to meet with investigators again next week, publicly stated that he’s willing to take a lie detector test and a drug test — and wants Cable to do the same. Is it me, or does it seem like every time we read something about this it’s like a “CSI” re-run on Spike TV?

Megan Fox

ONE: Fortenbaugh heads to Cali- Our NFP Fantasy expert, Joe Fortenbaugh, is heading west today, flying from Philly to Southern California to receive a “major award” from his law school. But we all know he’s on the Hollywood trail looking for his ideal woman — Megan Fox. Here’s to Joe, his big-time award and the hope he can find Megan somewhere in the Hollywood Hills. But we doubt it.

Gustini didn't dig up the Favre goat story...that was on Deadspin nearly 2 months ago. Click the URL or see below:

Great stuff. Fun to look at. I didn't realize that Spider Woman had her own T.V. show. Dumb Male that I am, if given the chance I would probably go for it. I can think of worst ways to go out.
