Linebacker's agent in talks regarding an extension. Terry McCormick
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe is on the brink of free agency and likely a big pay day.
But the linebacker is still hopeful that the big payday will come from the Ravens, according to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun.
"There's always a chance, and that's what I'm hoping will happen," Ellerbe said. "The Ravens are a perfect situation for me. Hopefully, it's a perfect situation for me to sign on the dotted line."
With Joe Flacco signed, the Ravens have made Ellerbe their top priority to retain and should have an offer from the club before the free agency period opens Tuesday.
