Alabama reportedly was unable to land one of the best linebackers in the state of Florida, as Kain Daub committed to in-state Florida State on Friday evening, according to The Florida Times-Union.
The Sandalwood High School (Jacksonville, FL) product chose the Seminoles over offers from the Crimson Tide, Miami (FL), Auburn, Oregon, Ohio State, Florida and USC, among others. Daub, who was once committed to LSU, said that he likes the Seminoles' coaches and believes that he could get early playing time in Tallahassee. He is considered an ideal inside linebacker for FSU's 4-3 scheme.
The 6-3, 243-pounder, who is considered a consensus five-star inside linebacker recruit, is the eight commitment of the 2014 class for the Seminoles. Teammate Blake McClain is also an FSU commitment, and former high school teammate Demarcus Walker enrolled at Florida State this past January.
