Falcons fan stabbed in throat outside Georgia Dome

In recent seasons, fan violence has been an issue for San Francisco 49ers games at Candlestick Park.

In this instance, it was a problem outside the Georgia Dome following the 49ers’ victory in the NFC Championship Game Sunday evening.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a fan was in stable condition at an Atlanta hospital after being stabbed in the neck following the game. The fan was reportedly in an argument with a group of 49ers fans outside Gate D and the 35-year-old man was slashed in the throat area.

The assailant has not been apprehended and Georgia World Congress Center Police are investigating the attack.
