Falcons keep William Moore with a five-year contract

The Falcons wanted to bring William Moore back and it only took the safety a short time in the “legalized tampering” period to determine that the grass was greener in Atlanta.

Perhaps the pay day was greener with the Falcons too.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Moore and the Falcons have agreed on a five-year contract, meaning the team will keep one of its leaders in the secondary.

While Moore could not have signed elsewhere after talking with other teams in the middle of the night, he could have gotten a clear picture of where his market value was (as if that didn’t happen already at the NFL Scouting Combine last month).

Now, the Falcons need to re-sign left tackle Sam Baker and see if they can woo tight end Tony Gonzalez back.
