Falcons rookie Marquis Spruill tore his ACL

Atlanta Falcons rookie linebacker Marquis Spruill is out for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The Falcons will be replacing Spruill soon on the roster.

Spruill was drafted in the fifth round out of Syracuse in May.

At Syracuse, he recorded 41 tackles for losses.

Spruill was slated for a special-teams role.
