The Atlanta Falcons will release free safety Thomas DeCoud when the new league year begins, according to a report form Yahoo! Sports.
DeCoud was slated to enter his third season of a five-year contract in 2014. Instead, it looks like he'll no longer be with the team that drafted him in 2008. This move will come just two seasons after DeCoud was named a Pro Bowl safety.
Releasing DeCoud by the fourth day of the new league year is expected to save the Falcons $3 million in cap space.
