The NFL has decided to allow fans in the stadium to see the same replay shots that the referee sees when he goes under the hood to view the disputed play, according to ESPN.com.
In the past, the replay in question was strictly up to the home team as to how much or how little it wanted to show in the video board as the official reviewed the play. Often, the home team would show only the video that favored it, or perhaps show little or nothing if the play appeared to go against the host team.
“They’ll see the exact same angles at the exact same time as he does,’’ NFL competition committee chairman Rich McKay of the Atlanta Falcons said.
