Lauren Silberman will make history on Sunday, even if she never gets a step closer to the NFL.
Silberman, a 28-year-old former soccer player, will take part in an NFL Regional Combine on Sunday at the New York Jets training facility, according to the Associated Press.
Silberman's chances of getting to the NFL might be slim, but she says she hopes inspire other women in the process.
"I am working hard to prepare but I am also realistic about my chances," she wrote in an email. "I hope my willingness to put myself out there inspires others to seize opportunities and challenges. The support from around the world has been so heartening."
